Visual art as a medium has long been a tool of reflection. Artists have used it to reflect ideas and themes from the world back at viewers from global events to the artist鈥檚 personal feelings or even the viewer themselves. Reflections is a collection of artistic visions that will explore the reflective property of art through various personal themes and concepts.

Britt鈥檚 series explores his physical and emotional relationship with the artistic process. He uses a combination of illustration and text to highlight the jarring aspects of the creative process. Jacobs鈥 work centers on Native identity, memory and cultural preservation. Through printmaking and mixed media, she reflects her culture, ancestors, and personal connection to her cultural identity. Bullard鈥檚 work also focuses on Indigenous identity, exploring the theme of 鈥淔uture Lumbee Leaders鈥. Her series highlights the characteristics of her subjects and reflects their personalities so the audience may connect with them through her art style. Hughes鈥 series of work explores intricate layers of identity and feminine girlhood. She aims to capture the complexities of personal identity and intertwine them with expressions of femininity. Nelson鈥檚 paintings are representations of fictional characters as they would be interpreted by many different readers. She uses the limited details given about the characters to create visuals of them that can easily be interpreted yet lack specific facial features. Eddy鈥檚 series splices the multifaceted nature of identity through the representation of the body. This series places the viewer on trial to explore the body, identity and the male gaze. Thus, the viewer is equally consumed by the work they are consuming. Outen has created a body of work which explores addiction and emotions related to suffering from addiction. Her series of small-scale mixed media drawings takes on the challenge of reflecting the viewer鈥檚 perception of addiction and forces us to question the way we see those who struggle with addiction. Edwards has created a collection of mixed media drawings that revolve around the exploration and expression of mental health. Her work is reflection of her own emotions and experiences with mental health through a lens of artistic principles.
