Please note: All reservations are made under the student’s name and student ID Banner number. Prior to registering it is very important to check your dates! Many students register for orientation without considering important dates like graduation rehearsals and vacations.

Orientation Fee Specifics:

• FRESHMEN students will have their $225 orientation fee placed on their student account. If you have available financial aid, it can cover this fee.

1. Log into your MyUNCP account. 
2. Select the "Events" link and select the orientation date that works with your schedule. 
3. Follow the instructions and register for on-campus orientation.
4. Please ensure you submit your registration.

Please note: An orientation date can be changed only once, and only if the session that you want to move into is open. To change your date please email orientation@uncp.edu.

FAMILY/GUEST REGISTRATION

Family reservations require a $60 non-refundable payment for each person. There is a maximum of two family members and/or guests per student. Additionally, we provide family members the option to stay on campus for an additional $40. 

Items to bring for your on-campus orientation: 

• Casual, comfortable clothing and walking shoes
• Immunization records, if needed
• Government-Issued ID (Needed to get your UNCP ID)
• College and/or High School transcripts if not submitted to Admissions (Note: If you attended an Early College, transcripts must come from the High School and College.)
• Pen and something to write notes on

Students spending the night on campus should also bring: 

• Twin XL sheets 
• Hygiene products 
• Blanket and pillow 
• Towel

Be sure to check your BraveMail regularly for updates and instructions. FLIGHT PLAN includes everything you need to start strong, including:

• Math placement information
• Paying for college

Don’t miss this important step to ensure a smooth transition and a successful start to your college experience! Your FLIGHT PLAN modules must be completed before your in-person orientation session. 

 

Staying On Campus for Orientation (1-Day Sessions | Early Arrivals)

Student Lodging

Students attending a 1-day orientation session will have the option to spend the night in a residence hall the evening before their orientation date. A form will be sent out once you register for orientation to request housing the evening before your orientation date. Move-in is from 6-7 p.m. the evening prior to your orientation date.

Staying On Campus for Orientation (2-Day Sessions) 

Student Lodging

Students attending a 2-day orientation session will automatically be assigned a room to stay in during the night of day 1 of their orientation session. There is NOT an early arrival option for students attending a 2-day session. Move-in will be in the morning of day 1 of your session beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m.

There are no refunds available for the orientation housing fee.
